We just bought a house and we’re getting Calvin Klein’s Bamboo Flowers bedding (I’ve wanted it for years). I’m not sure what color to paint the bedroom walls. the right shade of purple or blue could be hard to pick. the main color is a purple close to gray. It does have green accents in the pattern. I don’t want something too ‘matchy’ so the sheets fade right into the walls. Any hints/suggestions/ideas on what color to use? I love Benjamin Moore paints. Thanks!

I really like the bedding. I would go with grey’s. check out the BM website…you can see the color on the wall. You can check out other shades too. I think grey would be more versatile for you in case you want to change to bedding color.

I would use a shade or 2 lighter (but close to) the flowers, it would make the room pop!

I have recently had a serious crisis over this question. My first instinct was – “don’t even try to find a color. just leave the walls white/off-white.”
the colors in this spread are so hard to deal with. If you use gray, it must not be a blue gray, or it will compete with the spread color. i don’t see using blue – or even two shades lighter. it is nearly impossible to match this blue, much less take it two shades lighter. you certainly wouldn’t want the blue itself on the wall, as it would be way too dark.
despite my better judgement, i set out to find a color for the wall in benjamin moore paint. i looked at grays and greens, and found that greens just don’t work. the green in this spread is so muted, that putting green with it looks wrong. i ended up using benjamin moore’s harbor gray and lighting it a great deal to a soft gray. i am only planning to paint one wall this color. the color is sort of depressing. i don’t think i could take more than one wall of it.
and this leads me to the question — was it worth it all? was it worth the work and near breakdown, just for one gray wall that i am really not very excited about anyhow?
