Microsoft Word Borders and Shading Option?
In Microsoft Word, under the “format” tab…the ‘borders and shading’ option. I see that once in that window, you can choose a page border, and if you have it installed, you can select a variety of “art” to use as the border. Here’s my question. Instead of it being a border around the whole page, can I make it just around a paragraph if I want to? I recently saw a word document that I am pretty sure used the art border, only it was around certain sections or paragraphs, not the whole page. If possible, how would I do this? Under the “borders” tab, once in the “borders and shading” window, the art border is not an option…..just under the page border tab. I really would like to know how to use the art border for just a section or paragraph! Thanks for any help!!

1. Highlight the paragraph / text
2. Go to Format and select the border/shading link.
3. On the pop up window, there is a drop down menu in the bottom right labeled: APPLY TO … select paragraph.
Do this for each effect and you’re done.
