A little while back, I noticed that there was green algae growing in growing in my plant’s jar. I washed out the rocks, jar, and gave the plant fresh water.
Since then, however, my plant has has started looking less and less healthy. The stalk itself is turning a rather dark shade of green, and the rings around the stalk are getting dryer and yellower by the week. The tips of the leaves are also more yellow than normal.
I moved it into a slightly larger jar, cleaned the rocks, and moved it to an area with less sunlight [thinking that too much sun had been the original cause]. It hasn’t gotten any better since then [about 3 weeks ago] and I’m not sure what else to do.
I would very much appreciate advice on how I can help it become healthy again.
Thanks a bunch to anyone who contributes!

I have 5 lucky bamboo plants in my house. They’re such clean plants. You don’t need soil to grow them. Anyway, the reason you have algae because the water is expose to sunlight. You need an opaque vase so the light doesn’t shine through. Algae will steal all the nutrients away from your bamboo plant.
Don’t use tap water for your plant. Chlorine and fluoride are chemicals. It will turn your plant yellow and kill it. Bamboo plants need clean, purified, natural water. So please use filter or bottle water. Here’s a link to a guy on YouTube name LuckyBambooExpert. You can watch his videos. They’re really helpful and you can save your plant from dying.
