I’m thinking I want a neutral — preferably white. It’s for a living room window, and I can’t have 84″L. It needs to be 72 or 63.
I have a decorative rod, but it’s on the smaller side, though I want either a 3″ rod pocket or tabs.
I need privacy, especially for at night. I have a decorative bamboo shade, but it’s too transparent.
I was also thinking something that would save me on keeping heat out in summer, heat in for winter (insulation) would be a plus.
I checked on Walmart since that’s the easiest for me. But not much to choose from. I don’t want to spend more than $20 a panel at most.
The room is casual, eclectic, more cottage chic with some natural tones and punches of bright color accents. That’s why I want to keep the curtains simple and fresh (white hopefully). There’s a lot going on already in the room.

I found some at Walmart and Big Lots and Kmarts. they were the “thermal” insulating drapes. They came in solid colors, like Brown, White, Ivory, Blue, and I think Maroon. I have them. They were about 20.00 to 25.00 each at the discount stores. More if bought at department stores. I’m sorry but they are a bit more expensive because they’re heavier and keep out sun and cold. They are energy efficient too as they keep out cold in the winter and heat in the summer so you heating or cooling bills are lower. I know its a little more than you want to spend but they are well worth it.
Hi, I’ve seen reasonable priced blackout curtains here http://www.windowshadesblind.com/blackout-window-curtains.html Hope this helps.
