I am about to move into a new place and since I have to get a new couch, I figure it is a good time to redecorate. I am not sure what color my new couch will be, but I anticipate something neutral and solid. I am planning to make roman shades, couch pillows, and to wallpaper the inside walls of a bookshelves (maybe to use as end tables) to save on money but still do something new. I was thinking about using the same pattern for all three projects and then using mostly solids in decorating the rest of the living room. Any suggestions on how to keep it from looking too busy or awkward? Thanks!

Well the couch is like your main item in the living room so pick one you love. but a nice clean white with black accents if you want a modern feel, a deeper rich tone like dark red or earth tone brown goes nice with almost anything . Paint or even do have fabric on the walls(you can use old table cloths or sheets then with a paint roller roll liquid starch on the wall put your fabric on and roll more liquid starch over it doesn’t ruin the wall or paint) try for an open room so it feels inviting.
